PRP

Platelet-Rich Plasma in Boston

This injection treatment is a great way to fill in age lines and acne scars, improve skin texture, tighten the skin, and give the face a vibrant rosy glow. This state-of-the-art face treatment helps patients look years younger.

PRP: Natural Rejuvenation

It is a modern innovation in facial rejuvenation. This substance is made from a patient’s blood and contains the growth factors needed to restore the healthy and beautiful appearance of youthful skin.

With this treatment, a small amount of the patient’s blood is drawn. Platelets and plasma are then separated from the other components of the blood. These are used to make platelet-rich plasma.

When the PRP is injected, its growth factors enrich the skin, reducing signs of facial aging. New collagen protein production is encouraged, which leads to healthier skin with more volume.

Because the treatment is made from the patient’s blood instead of any foreign substances or products, it is a very natural procedure. There is no risk of rejection by the body or any sort of allergic reaction.

Good Candidates for PRP Treatment

The best candidates for a PRP facial-rejuvenation treatment are those with skin issues like acne scars, sagging, roughness, dullness, and wrinkles. People looking for aesthetic improvement without the downtime and risks associated with surgery can benefit from this procedure. It will also stimulate hair growth for men and women experiencing hair loss.

Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not ideal candidates for PRP facial rejuvenation. Additionally, patients experiencing severe acne or infections in the areas intended for treatment should wait until after these conditions are resolved to get PRP rejuvenation.

If you are planning to come in for this treatments you will need to avoid taking any NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) around ten days before the procedure. You will also need to avoid these for around ten days after the treatment session.

The PRP Treatment Process and What to Expect

This treatment typically takes 30 minutes to an hour to complete. At the start of the treatment process, blood is drawn from the patient. It is put into a centrifuge, which separates the platelets and the plasma to make the PRP.

The PRP is loaded into a syringe with an extremely fine needle. After local anesthesia is administered to the treatment areas and they are numb, the injections of PRP are delivered.
